Blue Zones Power 9: Family First

“Invest time with family to add up to six years to your life,” according to the Blue Zones Project Fort Worth, and we couldn’t agree more. This is one of the main reasons why we focus on helping families get a healthy start in life. We want your time invested with your family to be enjoyable and focused on health, happiness, and growth, rather than on pain, disease, and discomfort.

Here are some tips for local activities that can help facilitate family bonding.

  1. Trinity River Trails. Take the family out for a walk - or if you want to get creative, create a scavenger hunt for the kids along a small section of the trail system.

  2. Fort Worth Bike Sharing. Great for families with older kids! Get a day pass or a monthly pass and go riding - just remember to always wear a helmet!

  3. Fort Worth Water Gardens. Free. Exciting. Beautiful Scenery. Suitable for kids of all ages - stroller or baby wearing friendly. Need we say more?

  4. Babies R Us. Free or inexpensive classes on all things family and parenting - from baby sign language and exercise during pregnancy to infant massage and basic CPR/First Aid - this can be one of your go-to sources for ideas and help with family-based activities.

  5. Libraries and Museums. Local libraries and museums often offer family-friendly attractions or events.
